Building Service and Pumping
Managing the water in buildings and especially high-rise buildings has seen significant change over the past decades as end-customers, contractors and architects plan and construct ever-taller structures, both residential, commercial and for governments around the world.
Looking at the history of high-rises, in 1965, the world’s tallest building was the Empire State Building in New York, standing 443m tall. In 2021 the tallest building in the world is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, in UAE at 829m tall. Hong Kong itself has an incredibly high density of skyscrapers.
Structures of these heights face several challenges regarding supplying water for drinking and bathing, flushing water for sanitation, as well as water needed for fire protection.
AVKs broad portfolio of control valves, gate valves, swing check valves, air valves, silent check valves and other complementary products are used in high-rise buildings in a wide variety of applications. In a well-designed system, AVKs valves throughout any building work in sync with pumps and other systems to provide water at the optimum pressure and temperature for use and consumption.
